The purpose of this presentation is to look at tools and techniques for the journey of HEAT to HEART. H.E.A.T stands for historical, educational and academic trauma. The R in the heart stands for reconciliation and recovery. Two of the important pieces of the healing journey. There can be many important lessons learned in school, and in academic settings, however, for many generations, some of the worst experiences of discrimination, racism, abuse and trauma have taken place in our schools. Part of the journey as a student and a leader is learning what healing looks like for each of us individually. Recovery and reconciliation are a big part of the healing journey. This workshop is designed to help participants explore the tools, values and strength they possess within their culture that can help them heal. La cultura cura.
